A single card
One card for the day, or for one clear question.
1
The simplest reading and often the most honest. One card, drawn for the day ahead or for a single question that can bear a single answer. Many readers draw one each morning and let it colour the day.
The card
The whole reading. What the moment, or the question, is asking of you now.
Reading the spread as a whole
Read the card twice: once for its plain meaning, once for the image itself — what in the picture catches you is usually the point. A reversed card asks where that energy is blocked or turned inward.
Other spreads
- Past, present, future — Three cards: where it came from, where it stands, where it tends.
- Mind, body, spirit — Three cards to take your own measure — not a question, a check-in.
- The horseshoe — Seven cards in an arc, from the past through counsel to outcome.
- The relationship — Seven cards for two people: what each brings, what joins and divides you, where it goes.
- Two paths — A decision spread: the fork, each road's near and far consequences, and counsel.
- The Celtic Cross — Ten cards: six make the cross, four the staff beside it.
- The year ahead — Thirteen cards: one for each month around a card for the year's theme.
